Sweet and Sour Chicken

This week you will be making a classic takeaway favourite -sweet and sour. You can make this with a lean meat such as chicken or turkey, or use tofu or vegetables if you prefer. We have adapted this classic dish and omitted the batter, so that the dish is lower in fat and overall calories. Enjoy!

Top tips!

- Ensure you chop up the chicken, tofu or vegetables to evenly-sized pieces, so that they cook in the same amount of time.

- To check the chicken is cooked, it must reach 75oC+ on a food probe, or alternatively, break open the largest piece and check that it is white inside.

- The sauce is thickened using cornflour - a type of pure starch that does not contain gluten. However, check the label of you are worried.
