Vegetable Soup

Today our class made vegetable soup. It was fun and it helped me to improve on my chopping skills.

Firstly we cut up the vegetables into 1cm cubes, they include potatoes, carrots, celery and onions. You could have added leeks but I did not.  We cut them all equally because if we didn’t they would cook at different rates.

We then melted the butter into a saucepan and added the vegetables. After that we put in the stock cube ( I used a vegetable stock cube ). Then we added water and waited for it to boil. We let it simmer until it was soft. 

Next week we will be making Risotto.
