Hi! Welcome to my Food Blog!
On Thursday the 26th of April we made Vegetable Soup!
I was really happy with my vegetable soup! I really enjoyed making the soup!
The soup was mouth-watering and I would have it everyday!
The texture of the soup was thick and the taste was stunning!
I’m glad I hand-blended the soup because it turned out to be very silky and velvety!
The vegetables I used in my soup: 1 small onion, 1 medium potato and 1 medium carrot.
I also used one vegetable stock cube, 25 grams of butter and 400 ml of water.
This would make a perfect starter in a restaurant.
The skills I used:
- Chopping vegetables evenly
- Peeling the skins of the potato and the carrot
- Using the hand-blender carefully so I didn’t splash the soup everywhere
- Learned how to control the heat when cooking the soup on the hob
- I did not burn the butter so it melted nicely
- I stirred my potates in the butter to coat it evenly
- I checked whether the soup was cooked perfectly by sqeezing the vegetables on the side of the pan. When I saw they were soft then I knew my soup was ready.
I think I could have improved the soup by crumbling the stock cube with the water in a jug instead of directly crumbling it into the pan.
I served this with chicken tortilla and boiled brocolli.
I absolutely loved the soup! My family wanted me to make it again, so it looks like they loved it too!
