Today we made strawberry and blueberry oaty breakfast muffins
First I had to crack an egg and whisk it with a fork. It was quite hard, because I accidentally cracked it too hard and the shell cracked into tiny pieces. Luckily, no pieces went inside the egg!
Next, I had to mix in the flour, oats and baking powder.
Next I had to mix the oil, milk and egg together. It was hard because on the journey my oil had spilt every where!
Next I had to mix the liquids into the dry ingredients. I did this by making a well in the flour and pouring the egg, oil and milk mixture in. I had to then fold it in carefully, making sure there was still air in it. After this, I added the fruit.
Our challenge today was to make a ‘batch’. A batch of muffins is a group of muffins that are the same. To find out who did this the best, we would weigh them, and the smaller the range the better. So, I put as close to equal amounts of the mixture in equal cases in a muffin tray. Then, I put them in the oven.
I did very well. The range (heaviest weight minus the lightest weight) was only 8 grams!
To make sure they were ready, I stuck a skewer in the biggest one (the bigger ones take the longest to cook). If it comes out with stuff on it, they are not done. If they come out clean, they are ready.
If I make these muffins again. I will use bigger muffin cases because they overflowed and it was very hard to unstick them from the case.

This is a great post! Excellent photos. How can you make your batch even more accurate?
