Pasta and cheesy white sauce

Today we made pasta and white sauce (using the all in one method)

First I made the pasta. All I used was a saucepan, boiling water, the hob and, of course, pasta

You can’t see the pasta in this because the water is boiling. The pasta took 12 minutes after the boil.

I could tell the pasta was done because when I stood a fork in it, it was soft.

Next- the white sauce.

I used the all in method, so I put the milk, flour and butter straight into the pan. It looked like this.....

I had to whisk it continually so the starch from the flour didn’t stick to the bottom and so the flour mixed into the milk.

The sauce thickened when the starch in the flour left it.

After the pasta and white sauce were both done, I mixed them together, also with the peas and ham and cheese, and put it in the grill.

I could tell it was done when it was all golden brown, and some bits were darker brown.

It was very fun, but the annoying thing was the amount of washing up!!!!
