A few days ago I made some coconut vanilla cupcakes topped with butter icing. I used the BBC Food website where I got the recipe for both the cake and the icing.
To make the process quicker, as I didn’t have much time, I used an electric wisk to mix the ingredients toghether when making the cake and icing. When applying the icing I had to be very careful as I wasn’t using a piping bag, but was making use of a tablespoon and teaspoon.
I think that I did quite well in presenting the cakes, as they were quite neat and were pleasing to the eye. But I could have improved on the amount of cake batter/mixture I put into each cupcake case as some had lots more or a less amount of the mixture in them.
As you can see from the image below I put the cake in a nice cake box as these were to give to somebody.
(Sorry for the late post)

These are very impressive baking skills, well done, they are all very well decorated. What other decorations could you use for cupcakes? Miss Harvey
