Muffins

This week you are making a batch of muffins. A batch is several food items that are created at the same time, and the result is that they should all be the same size, weight and appearance. Therefore, you need to be careful when portioning the mixture to ensure they are all the same. You can flavour the muffins with fruit, fresh or dried, and add oats for texture and fibre.

Top Tips!

- Portion your mixture as evenly as you can - this will ensure you produce an even batch.

- Try not to spill mixture on the sides of the muffin cases as it will drag the muffin over when baking.

- Clean off any spilt mixture to ensure well presented muffins.

- Bake them quickly after making to maximise the rise from the raising agent.

- Do not repeatedly open the oven door or the muffins may sink.
